I was watching my 55 gallon basement tank today and I noticed.. all my cories are spawning left and right!! their eggs are all through my HC!!! I have a hatchery fry need box thing.. should I put that in the tank and the plant leafs that are in there with it? :/ and what do i feed them once they hatch? :X

Oh! they are pepper cories..

In General the plastic hatcheries aren't very good, For Hatching an icecream tub with an airstone would suffice. Then you could move them into a breeding net or better yet their own Tank. You will not have to feed them for the first 48-72 hours(not quite sure of exact time) as they will still be absorbing their eggsac, Then you can Feed them Liquifry until it is possible for you to get a microworm culture, A few breeders suggest that even if you have a microworm culture ready that to feed them liquifry for the first 4-5 days to a week because the microworm may be a little too big and could cause digestive problems. I am not an expert so in no way is what I say gospel but you can use it as you like. We have a few experience breeders on here so they will be able to pick up on anything i forget to say, unless they have posted before I have been able to.

mm.. I shall have to see.. they breed like crazy down there hgaha

Hi CardBoardBoxProcessor :)

I'm glad to hear you have so many eggs. If you can get them into a tank of their own it would be best because it will be easier to control the water conditions for them. They need very clean water which means daily water changes.

I have been going with microworms right from the start and the fry don't seem to have a problem with them. When I used LiquiFry it tended to make the water polluted too quickly. If that's all you have, give it a try, but be sure to keep that water clean while you are getting a microworm culture started.

I don't like using nets because of the need for cleanliness.

Good luck with the babies. :D

they must be breeding all the time.. i was just watching my newly added cories and tI saw a few pepper babies haha!

Umm.. Will Koolie loaches eat them? Probably huh? poor little three babies..
