when people say "scrape off the eggs and put them in a separate 1 gallon tank" how do i scrape them off without the eggs floating away? how do i stick them on a plant and put them above the aeration filter so that the bubbles hit them?

I use a razor blade and get someone to hold a net underneath the eggs.

Leave the egss for a few mins to harden off, scrape nice and carefully and catch them in the net. Swap them into the other tank and they should hatch after around 48hours (mine always do when kept at 27degrees)

Don't worry about sticking them to anything when they are in the other tank, aslong as the water is aerated and agitated the majority of the eggs will be fine, all the ones that go white and fluffy just remove.

Hope this helps

Sometimes I even just use my fingers and sort of "Roll" them off the glass with my nail, aslong as your careful you shouldn't pop any. Proper tough little eggs.

for this to work would it have to be the same tank water as what the eggs were layed in ?

Meaning what? They will hatch in any water as long as its dechlorinated, aerated and heated?
