cory acting weird

my friends peppered cory has been acting a lil weird! he just kinda sits there and doesnt move for a while... he looks like he is dead but he is breathing...he swims on his side and then just lays there in / position ( / meanin sideways) they have had there cories for a long time! they are almost 6 years old and we are wanting to know if the lil guy is gonna kick the bucket... the only time he moves is when something startles him, even then he is acting weird he darts really REALLY fast! he moves sumtimes to eat! got any ideas?? quick response would be nice!! i wanna know if i should buy her a few more

To be honest he dosn't sound right, when they lay on there sides it's not a good sign i''m afraid, you have done very well to have them that long.

completely laying on the side, or tipping over slightly? If the last, I'd not worry My female cory does it all the time ... a year ago or something it used to scare me, now I'm used to it

If completely laying on her side though, then I'd be worried. Also, the swimming sounds kind of off =/ I'm really not sure though, just keep a close eye on it
