See I always see people talking about their Corries laying eggs. Like it's no big problem. They do it all the time.

I have:

3 Small Bronze Cory in a 20g/76L
3 Big Bronze Cory in a 20g/76L
4 Huge Sterbai Cory in a 29g/110L

I have not once seen them lay eggs. They have been in the tanks for 3 to 4 months. Nothing.

What can you guys say?

How are the tanks set up?

I have the same problem, fully planted peaceful tank, 5 peppered cories (and now recently a khulie loach), now and again breeding type behaviour begins but never comes to fruition.....

Have you tried seperating males and females, feeding up well on blood worm, then reintroducing to eachother and performing a cool water change?

hi freshwaterfishlover

well it could be a number of things from

1) are you show there male and female

2) are they sexualy muture

3)they need conditioning for at least 2 weeks on high protine food ,pellit, any live foods they can eat, flake ,frozen foods ,give them more food than usally and do more water changes than usally but take uneated food out the next day .
now after the 2 weeks if they havent spawned natrually do a 10%water change and add cold water do that every 2 days till they spawn ,i did this till my bronze spawned and now they spawn every week like clock work ,just got about 300 eggs today ,pluss i have 150 wriglers from last week and 80 from a month ago :good:
when there ready theyll act differnt shooting back and frow up the glass and chaceing each other
make show you take the eggs out or they will eat them , i do it with my finger but they are really tricky to get off the glass some times, and easly damaged so take ure time i stick the eggs to a container which i float in the tank with a bit of meth blue to stop fungus with an air stone dangled in it for water circulation, they will hatch from 2-4 days thats the easy part raising them is the hardest ,the first 24hours or so you dont need to feed them ass they live off the egg york
best food for them is newly hatched bbs and micro worms but iv feed mine liqufry and first bights with no probs make sure you keep the container clean and take uneated foods out and you sholdent have any probs
good luck :good:

I have the issue, but...I think my fish are younger, and so might not be sexually mature yet. This weekend I'll be performing a HUGE water change, and then we'll see what happens. ;) I've heard that, if you do that and lower the temp at the same time...the fish thinks it's rainy season, and start the spawn.

They might not be a male and female. If they are they need to be stimulated. Take thye chlorine out of some cold water and add it to your tank. That will simulate rainfall and usually causes the cories to lay eggs. :good:
