Coronavirus...post your thoughts here...

My husband and I were not told to wait after both AZ vaccines at the GP surgery. Our older son was not told to wait after his first AZ either, at a different GP surgery (his second is due in July). When his almost ex wife had both Pfizer doses at the same surgery as our son, there were gazebos in the car park to wait under for 15 minutes. So that surgery did different things for different vaccines.

Interesting, this seems to give reference to all three vacines and states allergic reactins can happen in minutes and staff are trained for them, its implying imo you should not leave the premises for some minutes.

I had mine at a large indoor track and field course. It had high ceilings. We were told to wait 15 minutes in a seating area but there was lots of space between people. I had no reaction from the Pfiezer shots except a sore arm.

During Covid19 my grandpa seems to be so paranoid that he hired maids to sanitize furniture in the store everytime the customers leaves...
That's not paranoia, it's sensible. At my work we have increased the hours of the cleaners so they are doing 'touch points' throughout the day instead of just at the beginning and end of the day. They also re-stock the soap, towels and hand gel which are in constant use. At home everyone has to wash their hands as soon as they enter the house.

We use hand sanitizer every time we leave a store. Really just any time we get in the car!

Still don’t get any vaccines as our government used all money for war tanks and submarines

We don't have any vaccine here because the government is stupid

Your grandfather is fine and not paranoid. He is being careful so you and your family have less chance of catching the virus.

Seen this on TV the other day, wouldn't dogs get covid from that?
I’m not sure the transmission between humans and animals is the same? With all the humans that have been ill over the last 18 months the mention of animals being ill has been zero from my recollection. (I’ve just done a very quick Google and there are a very small number of instances but the risk is considered to be low).

Cats can catch it as well.
And big cats.

Have you heard of the dogs people have in care environments where the whole purpose of the dog is to be a source of joy to the patient? They might be passing it around.

Victoria on the east coast of Australia is in another lockdown (4th since covid started). This time the virus escaped from hotel quarantine in South Australia and travelled to Victoria by a guy. He spent 10 days moving around Victoria while infected before anyone knew he was infected.

The virus that has infected Victoria came from India.

In April 2021, the Australian government closed the border to anyone from India because the virus was spreading uncontrollably there. People in Australia and India kicked up a stink saying it was illegal and a breach of human rights, etc. One rich guy even took the government to court over the matter and lost. Any way, people kicked up a huge stink and the government backed down and allowed some people into Australia from India. Now we have the Indian strain going nuts on the eastern states.

So thanks to morons dribbling on and complaining about human rights violations and not being allowed back into the country because they are in a country with a major outbreak, Australia now has the most dangerous strain of the virus spreading throughout the community.

A lot of the people in India that want to come back to Australia only went there in the last 6 months while the pandemic was in full swing. They knowingly went overseas to an infected country during a pandemic, and now want to come back when there is an uncontrolled outbreak where they are.

People are fuplie stupid.

did you get your vaccination yet, @Colin_T
No, I still can't find anyone in the town to get me one. Nobody here knows what is going on. The state and federal governments are spamming adverts on television, radio and in the newspapers telling everyone to get vaccinated now. It's on the news and radio and everywhere (get vaccinated now). But when I contact the doctors here, they don't have any vaccine and don't know when they are getting any.

I sent the federal government another email on Sunday night/ Monday morning asking about this and haven't had a reply. I didn't get a reply the last time I asked for a vaccine from them a month ago and doubt I will get a reply this time. :(

------------------
There is still a heap of old people in homes that need vaccinating and they haven't been done yet even though they were meant to be the second group of people to be vaccinated. It was meant to be frontline workers, then old people in nursing homes, then people with underlying health issues, then healthy people over 50, then people between 16-50. Then children.

Most state and federal politicians have had both doses. Most nurses, doctors and police have had 1 jab but not both and there are lots of people working in these industries that haven't had any vaccine yet (not even their first one). Half the people working in nursing homes haven't been vaccinated and there are major outbreaks in nursing homes in Victoria now because of a worker who was working in several nursing homes while infected.

The state governments apparently have control over some nursing homes and they said all workers in their homes can only work in one facility. But the federal government nursing homes have workers that can work in any facility and are not confined to one. This means if Joe Bloggs has the virus and works in multiple facilities, he can spread it to more people. And that is exactly what happened last year when this first started and it happened again two weeks ago, which is one of the reasons Victoria is back in lockdown and people from nursing homes are now going into hospital.

If people don't learn from their mistakes, they are deemed to repeat them.
