Hello Guys
I have 3 peppered cories in my tank at the moment and have been told that they like to be in groups of 6 ish....so I am going to eventually buy some more..
My question is: should I get peppered cories or can I get some different ones?

Which can I do?

Well, you can do anything you want...

As you pointed out, Corys like to be in larger groups but it won't kill them to be in a group of 3, they'll just be happier. But I also think you'd enjoy a group of 6 Peppered Corys more than a group of 3 peppered and 3 others because in the larger group they'd be more comfortable, open up a lot more and more likely to do their dance.

This trait is not just exclusive to Corys but any fish that shoals. There's nothing like seeing a large shoal (10 or more) of Corys, or Rummy Nose Tetras, or Zebras or Neons, etc.

But it's entirely up to you. They're your fish.

You should get peppers ideally.

Don't forget that you must take into consideration the size of your tank when choosing the size of shoal for your peppereds.
