Like the subject says really. :)
My betta has a 10g to himself currently and looks a bit lost on his own. Seems he's always had company previously. I'd like to get peaceful tankmates but not too many and cories seem ideal. They won't invade his space etc etc.
Would this be fine? :/

Cories are pretty much the ideal tankmates for a Betta as they won't come into much contact and will almost certainly ignore each other when they do meet. :)

I have had 3 in my 20 long, all female, betta tank for a couple of months. I have not seen any problems. Every once in a while one of the cories will chase one of the bettas, but I think it is just trying to school with the betta.

I am thinking it depends on the temperament of your Betta. Some are so social and able to get along with other fish or at least tolerate them...then there's one like mine, who rules his 5 gallon, anything in there besides him is food so far as he's concerned. :X I'm not sure he'd accept a corey. However the Betta I just rescued he's much gentler and kinder. In a 10 gallon, providing there's some hiding places, coreys love those, they should be fine. Let us know how it goes ok?

I will. Looking into getting pygmy cories in a small group to join him. I shall keep a very close eye on them and if there's any trouble they can be moved to the 15g instead. As the livebearers in there are being moved out soon there'll be room too. If it doesn't work I may think about dividing the tank in two and have a second betta on the other side. We shall see.
Hugs,
P.
