Hi guys

I often wonder if my cories get enough to eat, even when i place the food directly on the substrate it seems that my other fish are more than happy to eat off of the bottom  So I was thinking about trying to feed the cories in the dark after the others have gone to sleep, is this likely to be more effective?

TIA :good:

Hi Coomon10 :)

Since corys use their barbels to find their food, more than they use their eyes, they will have no problem eating in the dark.

If the other fish are still hungry enough to be eating the cory's food, are you sure you are feeding them enough? What kind of food are you giving the corys?

Hi Inchworm :look: <am honoured for you to respond to my post>!

Try to vary it, i have some catfish pellets, algae tablets, one of the tetra sinking foods and then frozen bloodworms, frozen daphnia and brineshrimp (frozen and freeze dried).

I have recently moved from having 5 cories to 11 (mainly from seeing the posts/pics here :good: ) and am always keeping an eye out on the new ones (peppered especially  ) to make sure they have at least one nibble of something but they seem to struggle compared to the newest albino's... Not sure if i study it too much or what?!

I am never sure how much to feed the other fish since i have a few rainbows and colombain tetras that seem to enhale 90% of anything that enters the tank! So i either put some flakes in and then pellets etc into the other corner for the cories, or with the frozen foods drop a few bits in and then place ~75% on the substrate for the cories but again they don't always get some as soon as the other 'get the scent'!

Just thought evening feeds might swing the odds further back in their favour! ;)

TIA
