are you sure its ick and not just their markings? I've been told corys don't get ick. Sometimes mine play in the sand over much and get sand all over them and it looks like ick. What are your water test results? Substrate? and so on please :)

tank is now cleared up .. yes it was ick .. they were seen flicking themselves they no longer do that and will turn down temp soon

It is also my understanding that Cories do not get parasites--ich. This was from an authority that I have lots of confidence in: Inchworm. Cories do get fungus and bacterial infections that can cause flicking. Also ammonia causes flicking and scale loss.

I have had Cories get a white spot or two, but it was not ich. It is fungus and bacterial infection.

Cories also flick to move substrate and mark spots.

Yea I have to say I had a cory once who had a white spot on him, it looked like ich however it was a little patch of fungus. I have never had a problem with cories catching ich from my fish in my tank. It's weird but I believe it's true that they cannot get ich.

all my white "spots" have been fungus as well. Most White Spot meds treat fungus as well though, just remember half the dose :)

I have just checked with other Cory "experts." I have been corrected: Cories can indeed contract ich and external parasites, although they are more prone to internal ones, I have been told now.

Excuse me now while I treat a flicking panda.

And forgive me for giving bad info, roseykat. It's not the first time I have passed along misinfo, and I am sure it is not the last--sad to say.

no plm ... i treated for ick and that went away but my other tank had gill flukes so i was told and no way i was gonna get grossed out trying to look under the gills but they gills were inflamed so i took that as a clue and treated and now theres a big hugh improve ment and the guy lsf told me to treat them with it as the meds i had was general cure and will treat most internal parasite so if they h ave any it will be treated like people say they are prone to internal parasite so hopefully that solve the plm and thats be it if not then im screwed as hell and a bad mommy to my fishhy
 :ninja: have to go and baet those icky stuff from my fishy

Corys are not prone to whitespot but yes they can get other external and internal parasites.

-makes mental note-

I guess I just never had a prob as I always treat with a general anti-everything incase I get it wrong lol

Thanks, Wilder!

There are so many differing opinions floating around. Sometimes it is hard to know what is really what.

Time and experience and good tank mates help me learn daily.
