Hey all.

I am getting all of my cured LR this weekend ~100lbs of it. It is covered in coraline algae and I was wondering what photoperiod i should put my lights (2x MH 15k and 4x actinic t5s) on? I assume the algae needs light so it doesn't die off!

it will be fine at a lot less than 8 hours.

id go for 5 tops, the corraline would probably be ok under the T'5s or just one halide

If it were me though, i wouldnt put anything on the rock at all. It spreads really quickly anyway

Is this going in a holding tank or is this the start of your journey? Live rock doesn't need light to live, just heat and flow :good:

When I put my live rock into the display tank i started with 10 hours a day as I wanted to watch what was happening :hyper:

Seffie, this is the start of my journey. It is already cured and has the coraline all over it. It is bright purple and I don't want it to go away, so I was inquiring as to how much light it should get so it will stay purple!

I will start out at 6 hours of actinics only. You think that will be good?
