Coralife Aqualight 3/4 Watt Lunar Blue Moon-Glow LED Light

I am interested in getting moon lighting for my 20gal planted. I do not have a hood, just a coralife 24" compact strip on legs. I wanted to add the product above as it attaches easily to the coralife lights. I also have a light timer that would turns night lights on right after the day lights are off.

The question is: will one of these be sufficient enough to light up the whole tank or should I get 2? They also carry a 1watt version for almost double the price, so I figure two of these will b 1.5watts for the same price as the 1 watt.

The tank is 20gal reg, 18" high

Thanks

Hiya.

I've got a very similar setup. I've got a single 1-watt light over a 54-gal corner tank on a day/night timer. The moonlight is great ... it allows me to observe my more noctural fish (like the pleco) when they are most active. I also think having a single moonlight creates very interesting hightlights and shadows within the tank (especially the plants) - the tank takes on a completely different look and feel at night. I'll continue to use them on all my tanks from now on. For your setup, I'd start with a single 3/4 watt ... you can always buy a second one later if you think you need it. Enjoy.

I ended up buying two of them (the 3/4 watt ones). They actually got in yesterday. I installed them at each end and I have to say I am dissapointed. For 26 US dollars I figured I would get a complete moon light when it just lights up very little. I can barely see anything.

Oh well :dunno:
