Fish Fanatic
Hi,
After advice on here i've changed my tank slightly. The main difference being that i've gave the Kissing Gourami to my LFS.
On a different note, after testing my water last night, i realised that my pH had lowered. Although i have difficulty telling the colour of the API pH test, i believe my pH is down to about 6.3.
It's normally at 7-7.2.
I mentioned this to my LFS and he said that this is about normal the water we have in these parts (South West Cornwall) and that i should put 2 bags of coral sand either in my tank or in my filter. He did say to add t gradually, and to test a small amount of the water first, with sand in, to ensure it's working correctly.
Is this right? Will this work? Can i just put it in my tank? I can put it my trickle filter, but i'd have difficulty removing it, if i had to.
I'm a little apprehensive about doing this.
Also, i can't do anything more than a 10% water change right now, my Angel Fish have laid a second (fertilised and cared for properly) group of eggs right at the top of my filter inlet pipe, i don't want to do anything to disturb either them or the, very tetchy, aggressive mother, who is staying close to them at all times!
Your help, and advise, as always, is appreciated!
Thanks
Jon
