Coral Sand

I've been given a bag of coral sand and was thinking of using it in my new tank setup.But have read that its really meant for marine tanks as it raises ph,my ph is already 8 so dont want it going higher,should i just buy ordinary sand do you think?

I would go with plain sand... argos playsand is inert, cheap and safe !

You will end up with 8.5 PH and really hard water... I looked in to this as i have 8.4 now... but the hardnew will just keep rising apparently.

Shame its cheap and looks soo good.... took me ages to find a sand i liked.

well i went and bought argos play sand today and it looks really good and only £2.49 for 15kg..... but think i need another bag,just takes alot of rinsing
