Coral Propagation And Frags?

The word Propagation refers: to multiply via natural reproduction, to reproduce, or to breed. We use the term "frag" to descibe the action of propagation. "Fragments" or "Frags" are taken from the original parent colony, hence reproducing the original coral into identical smaller portions. We often dont have the means to let coral reproduce naturally in our tanks, so propagtion is a means to devide corals, and sustain our hobby. (Note, not all corals can be "propagated" as such, and methods vary).

Ya that sounds about right but you may find at the LFS 'Frags' may refer to any small bunch of corals (1 or 2 polyps), the usual corals to find as frags are mushrooms and button polyps they reproduce quickly and drop of the colony easily particularly after they just arrive in the stores. One of the benifits of working at the LFS is being able to grab the frags for a cheaper price and let them spread. Oh xenia would frag easily too, they are the weed of the sea after all.
