Hi all

Can anyone please tell me what this coral is called, its polyp's are in at the moment but when they are out, they are yellow.

gorgonian or seafan.
Don't let the base get any sand on it because it will cause the bottom of the coral to rot. When the polyps are out try to put some newly hatched brineshrimp in for it. Long term they don't usually do that well.

Thanks Colin, i will post another pic soon, it has its polyp's out now and looks well different, i done some searches earlier and i also came up with what you suggested, sounds bad news that they do not do well, fingers crossed for this one then.

Thanks
VM

Agreed, difficult to keep alive since most are non-photosynthetic. Like colin said, you need to feed with baby brineshrimp, marine snow, phytoplankton, or similar when the polyps come out. Very high-maintenance coral
