Hi guys,

I recently added Coral beauty into my tank, and it looks like fire shrimp does not really liek that.
I have a nice cave, I would say fish penthouse of caves and shrimps just loves it. As I can see angel started to love it too.
So it there is always a fight, I would say shrimp is attacking angel everytime she gets into the cave. I dont really know
what to do in this case. When I put food into the tank angels stays to in the cave, shrimp runs aroung catches some and gets back.
If you ask me who would I choose I would say angel, even if I paid less for it.

Any advice guys? Can they really kill each other? They are the same size apx.

Thank you.

No I do not really believe the shrimp could kill the angel and I do not the angel would kill the shrimp either. IMO just leave the 2 of them to it and they will eventually resolve their diffrences and get along. They will either learn to share the cave or one of thems going to have to give in and go find another cave!

All in all its nature taking place and should be more fun to watch a bit of squabbling than worry about them! ;)

Yes they are cleaners, I am really not sure if she was cleaning her or trying to get her out of the cave? Anyway...

The angel is dead :-( but I doubt its a shrimp. Its totally my fault here is why and can u please tell me what I had to do so I wont do any
of these mistakes in future.

I got angel week and a half ago put her in a 5 gal quaranteen tank, she never tak any food in there and were always hiding behind or in the bottom of the plastic bottle. So decided to move her to the main tank I was hoping that she will atleast start to eat algoe. As soon as she got into the tank she went into the cave and died there 5 hours later.

I was thinking the problem is my quaranteen tank. I have 5 gal, one 1200maxijet pump, filter, all of them are good for 30 gal.
She never ate anything in there and bad thing ammonia was showwing a liitle, I did replace 50% looks like it helped, later on it appears again, I was doing water change there one in a couple of days, but looks like did not help very much. I got Stabilization System by Seachem, used 50% less as they advices yesterday hoped it will help.

Anyway, any advice will be appreciated, I know I am stupid but atleast I want to know what exactly I did wrong.

Thank you guys.

I'm sorry about your loss. But here is what I think may have caused it, Firstly a 5gallon QT tank for an angel is a bit too small so I would personally get rid and upgrade to a bigger tank as one that size would cause more stress than good!

Also you should have waited till ammonia and nitrites were stable at 0 before adding any livestock to the tank as a newly moved fish is stressed enough wothout having to face bad water conditions!

Yes probably its too small, all ammonia and etc were 0 at the time I added angel there it started to rise later.

buy a hob filter, or im sure you have one lying around.

Run some filter floss in your sump somewhere to get bacteria to build up, when you need to quarantine, just fill the qt tank with display water and put the hob filter on with the filter floss. Since it's just a fish, no rock or substrate, the filter will be fine for a few weeks. Make sure to monitor water conditions though just in case.

I would suggest at least getting a 10 gallon to qt the coral beauty. This at least gives him a chance to swim around a bit! try to throw in some pvc pipe or small pots so he has somewhere to hide. I'd leave lights off in the qt too.
