hey i turned on my lights and i saw a big hairy patch moving and then i realized its a slug, i guess it hitchiked too .....i couldnt get a camera cuz wow it was fast. i cant seem to find it but it has white spikes on its back.. so im not sure but hey i got a new freind for free too! ill try andg et a pic can any one find a pic of somthing similar its grey and looks liek grey sand... and uuum really fast moving and uuuum 1.5 cm long...

well it doesnt have a shell from what i can tell but i will get a picture up maybe my snail decided to have a kid ;) yay , i couldnt find that type of snail nothing came up so i took out true and it had a shell so it couldnt b that one but i didnt check everywhere for that exact name

If it's white and has like a small rough lump on it's back that kind of looks like a white shell they're probably stometalla snails, i have some and they can shift faster than my nass's  Good cleaners :)

you nkow what i think it is i had a flat shelled snail im not sure of the name but its the types of shells that they cant suck back into. and i dound a shiny pshell at the bottom of some of my live rock so idno i guess it shed it and its been crawling around naked it looks just liek a slug it that how they grow bigger? kinda odd. he cam with my frogspawn...
stometalla snails,

wait ya it is that stomatella thing what r they like?

They are good cleaners of rocks and especially the glass IME :)

They do spawn in auariums regularly, whether their young grow up i'm not sure...:dunno:

Fantastic cleaners and lightingly fast too!

Yes they will breed readily in aquariums, my tanks has hundreds of them!

They also have the ability to lose their tails much like lizards do if they are caught by a predator. Gave me the shock of my life when i tried catching a few to seed a friends tank and all i was left with was a wriggling stump of a tailin my hand

will have to get me some then, seems they can get to the algae on the glass where its too tighter gap for my turbos/me to clean :D cant wait!

If you got enough liverock then you will probably already have some of them. As they are unavailable for purchase in nearly all shops your only chance of gettng them is via a friendly fellow reefer or on some liverock you have purchased.

They are mostly night feeders. Try checking the tank out a couple of hours after the lights are out.

ya im not sure but i have oen in my tank that is a shell less snail and its like an inch big but the one i got that had a shell its odd because when it came it had a shiny silver shell, then it shed it or w/e and it started to grow a new one, and instead of silver its the same color as my live rock, and the live rock it was in before was the same color as the old shell hmm is this just a qoincidence?
