Hello does anyone know of any coolwater fish that are also hardy fish so any fish that can handle cooler water and not have to use a heater and that would be easy to take care of?

White Cloud Mtn Minnows (in avi). Enjoy cooler water. Does best in schools of 5 or more.

hey danios are great hardy fish and they thrive in cold water need a school of 4 to 5. we keep ours in a 2foot cube with three gold fish and they are fine. other cold water varieties include paradise fish, specially bred platies can survive low temperature water, chinese algue eaters, bait fish, pacific blu eyes ect however these fish are much more sensitive than the danios. white clouds are also great we recently lost are last one to a hungry goldy :( he way 7+ years old. best bet for cold water tanks are goldfish, danios and white clouds

hope that helps

kind regards liam m

Hello thank you so much you have been very helpful I appreciate it!

What tank size do you have? and were you looking for smaller or larger type fish?

the tank is a round 15 gallon and I was just wanting some small fish. I can't make up my mind maybe I will go ahead and use a heater and not worry about coolwater fish I am not sure yet.

For a 15 gallon tank I'd recommend a school of white cloud mountain minnows (about 6-8) and a paradise fish.

Goldfish will outgrow the tank (the smallest goldfish need at least 20 gallons and a 36" tank). If getting danios, I'd recommend a larger tank (20 gallons) but a school of 6 could work in a 15 gallon as long as it is not a cube (so a 24" tank rather than an 18" cube).
