Coolio Loaches?

does ne one know how comon a coolio loach is to get and what type of fs might have one...cause right now my main shoping area is a local petsmart (they have good fish well taken care of) and i don't think they have them. but i really really wanta to get a group of em. do u think a petsmart could order them and how much do u think they would cost. ( american money) and i live in green bay wi so if ne one knos an lfs thats around there that could help me get a hold of them that would be gr8 thanks

You could buy them for about $3.00 each. If the pet store won't/cant' order Kuhlie loaches for you, you can but them online. liveaquaria.com is a good site, in my opinion.

My lfs sells "khuli" B) loaches for less than $3.00. I can get 6 of them for about $7.00. either way, they relativily inexpensive and I think that petsmart or any other major chain should be able to order them for you. Or as n3ont3tra said, just scout around online and you will find alot of good sites that will ship

I had the hardest time finding the kuhli loach until I started looking around smaller lfs. None of the big corporate stores seem to sell them, though the Petco here seems to stock the black kuhli every now and then. But $3 would be a realistic price for one.

Funny, I bought 5 today for my son's tank. $2.85 each Canadian or about $2.50 US.

This is not a great place to buy fish - at all!!! But, Meijers (if you have those) seems to always have the kuhlie loaches when I go in.
It's worth a try if you can't find them anywhere else!

If you live in Canada, try Big als aquariums, they usually have them in along with many other species of odd balls like arowanas

woops! didn't read that well check around on the net and see if they have big als in the us I have no idea if they do Also check the pinned forum of US Fish store directory and make a few calls

I only have experience with the Stoney Creek, Ontario store but I find them to be very good. Great selection, good prices and knowlegeable staff.

I live in Va. and my Petsmart carries them. Unfortunately they are always sold out when I go in. Do they just not carry them or are they sold out. Look carefully at the descriptions under the tank or ask a clerk. The little buggers hide under the gravel so it might look like they dont have any. Or ask a clerk if they plan on getting some. They go for 1.99 here . They are usually the black ones but occasionally they get regular kuhlii's by me.
