just wondering what the ph level should be for convicts in a 20 gallon tank and also the temp. it should be at thnx for your help

Ph shouldn't be a huge concern, mine's at about 7.8ish in my 10 gal....As for temp I think it depends on the fish....maybe about 75-80F..... :) :)

20 gallon tall aquariums are not suitable for Convicts, but for some reason it is commonly taken that they are suitable for these tiny tanks. 20 gallon long is certainly the smallest recommended, and I would not stuff them into anything less then 3 feet long. The PH really doesn't matter, temperature is indeed fine between 75 and 80.

my convict is in my 55 gallon where the ph is considerably low at 6.3 She does fine with it. She was in my 30 gallon where the ph was right on at 7.0, she did well with this also.as long as your PH stays stable you wont have any problems.

I also keep my temp at 80F in all my tanks. I've never had any problems, nor outbreaks of ick with the temp this high. Works great.
