my three convicts are only little (around an inch) and there in a 180litre tank. The problem i have is that because there so small, and the tanks so big for them (at the moment), they never notice any of the cichlid pellets that i put on for them. So i've resorted to feeding them catfish pellets as these sink down to their level, and the convicts eat them.

So all i really want to know is.....is there anything wrong with feeding them catfish pellets until their a bit more settled in, and a little bit bigger?

Thanks

p.s. i dont mean catfish pellets all the time, they tend to notice and eat Daphnia aswell, and occasionaly Tubiflex stuck low down on the glass.

Not at all a problem if you are feeding a variety of foods, I seriously doubt it would be a problem if you were only feeding the catfish pellets either.

All of my community fish get a variety of catfish pellets, frozen discus food, betta pellets, algae wafers, tropical flakes and various other frozen/fresh/live food :good: .

The only dry food my angelfish really gets a decent amount of is the catfish pellets .

well im probably going to stick with the catfish pellet/daphnia/tubiflex combo for a few weeks.

It really is quite funny to watch these three convicts, each around an inch, swimming around with far too much space :p

thanks :D

yes catfish pellets and mix of other foods is fine....what i do for my ones with the cichlid pellets is let them get soggy then squeeze them and you will find they sink to the bottom :good: they also love deshelled peas

Have you tried sinking pellets like Tetra prima? I feed that to all my cichlids and that eat it.
