Hi, i have a pair of black convicts, and everytime they mate the babies start to dissapear after about a week. What are some possible causes?

What other fish are in the tank with them?

If they are alone, then there is a chance the babies are being eaten by the parents or are dying naturally, what do you feed them?

How often do they breed? If they have a batch of babies then breed the next week they could see the older fry as a threat to the new eggs so take it out on them and get rid of them in that aspect. Can you separate them at all? Though admittedly it could be a blessing as getting rid of convict fry can be a bit of a nightmare sometimes.
