Convict Fry

Hello everyone,

I have a pair of convicts that laid eggs awhile back and a week ago they hatched. The fry are getting bigger everyday and im wondering now when do i have to seperate the fry from the parents? I want to keep the fry and i am worried the parents will want to breed again and eat all their offspring

Hm-depends on the parents, but I take ALL of my fry out between 3 and 7 days of becoming free-swimming now. I had a pair that did just fine for 14 days and more, then decided one time to eat them after 9-so I figure better safe than sorry.

I normally leave them in for a month.
