Convict Community

I never see people having convict community tanks, I want to make one with my 55g i will soon to be getting. How should i go about this I like cons alot and i want more the 1 pairs...

Do you mean you want the tank with only convicts? Or do you mean with other fish?
Cons can be kept with other fish, but a 55g is probably a bit small to risk that.
But if you want all convicts in the tank, then 1 pair will give you a whole community soon...

I wouldn't under any reason put a pair of cons in a community cichlid tank. I have 1 male pick con with blood parrots, firemouths, Rams, and texas cichlids. Everything is great and always has been.

i would only recomend keeping cons with fish are the same size or bigger

My central american tank consists of 7 convicts (3 breeding pairs) and a harem (9-11) of herotilapia multispinosa. Agression really isnt that bad when there are enough target fish. In fact, all 3 pairs of convicts are guarding fry at this very moment, and no one is getting beat up on in the least bit. They give chase hen somebody comes too close, but thats it. I think all the hearsay about convicts being destructive of other fish comes from people keeping them in tanks that are too small with too little target fish.

The tank is a 4ft 70g tank BTW
