hi, will this be ok? its one of them tanks that floats in the water

You mean the net that hangs on the edge of the tank? I think that it would be ok temporarily, but not for long term use. The fry will be crowded, and I can't imagine that they would grow properly. I could be wrong, though.

hi, no its not a net, its a plastic see-thru box :)

Those gett dirty real fast but I guess it might be okay for a day or 2. Why dont you leave them with the parents?
im more concerned about my other cichlids, they are in a corner scared to death :S- i was thinking, if i moved the babies, the parents might not be as bad. How many of these babies will survive? i would love them all 2 :)

If you mean your labs are scared to death....then removing the fry probably wont solve anything at this point. In fact it might send them over the edge...The best thing really for your labs is to find them a new tank without breeding cons.

Yah good point. When i moved fry from my JD's tank they went insane searching the tank for them, beating on the pleco and everything. I think they thought he ate them

You have a never ending problem. These cons will not stop mating. soon you will have to many to deal with. The babies will grow and start to mate non stop also. Nobody will take them either.

I had up to 300 at one time. I thought it was really cool at one time, now I can't stand them anymore. Presently have fry and many adults!!!

my local fishshop will buy them :p so not all is bad

Are you sure??? The major pet stores told me their not allowed to take them, and four fish stores told me they would take just about any fish but convicts. Not even for free!

Lucky for me, my son has a red ear slider who just loves them. Not quite what I had in mind, after raising them, but had no other option. I still have to many and I'm tired of them.

I just had eggs hatch about 3 weeks ago. about 50 fry . fourth generation. I have easily had more than 1000 convicts from two fish who have since passed a while ago.

my LFS acually GAVE me a pair of breeding cons because they didnt want them. They wouldnt stop breeding and a 30g tank at a LFS with 2 fish worth nothing is not good so i got mine for free. Good luck selling em ttho maybe ur town doesnt have that many.
