So i have this central american tank that has being running for like 3 years or so. I currently have a salvini, convict, blue or black acara (not electric the original), blood parrot and 3 rainbow cichlids. The tank is running well. No serious trouble in there. Everybody knows the pecking order. Before i use to have a female convict as well but had to re home her due to continuous breeding with the male.
Last week or so i see some breeding behaviour between the salvini female and the male convict. The salvini has this cave that no body dares to go near. Its being hers from like 2 months after the tank being established. Both of them are in the there protecting the cave now. Rearranging the sand and all sorts. This is worrying for me as salvinis breeding normally can be very aggressive. This will mess up the whole tank balance. I love the salvini, my favourite fish i own. I also love the convict got a little nucul hump on it. What would you guys advise in this situation? What are my options?
The pictures of them are attached below
