Ok my mum has came up with an awesome idea i got a free 4ft tank, it is too big for my house but ideal for garden, she want me to get sonme goldfish in it,
Is this ok?

Its not the best idea as in the UK the tempuratures in the winter will be so low the tank could freeze completely or just get a bit frosted and it will crack.

Well i am going to have a heater that i will use in the winter

well if you can find an outside heater for a tank.. i dont think you can get them, only for ponds, and that would be too big.. if you try it, be prepared to not succed! you can have abut 4 goldfish in there.. 4ft would be about 40 gallons right? or 30? if you plan on keeping commons/comets/shubunkins you can only have 2 maximum.

4ft would be about 40 gallons right?

The tank in question is 48L x 18W x 24H (waterline 17")
which is 72 USgallon

A pond heater would be good to use.

I do think this is a great idea in therory, but in pratice it maybe a bad idea.
only time will tell.

 Well it was my mums idea, i thought i would go along with it because she dosen't want it in the house :(

well i would not even think about it espaicaly with a 4ft tank

do you have a garden shed ive herd many people have lots of tanks in a garden shed but need well insulated tho

well good luck in what ever you try
