well im going be putting my old 6ft fish tank in my shed and getting it setup and running :D I was wondering if anyone has ever done this? Also am i going have problems keeping the temp at 25c? i dont want to run the electric bill up

The best bit about it being in my shed is noise!!!! i dont have to worry about noise from running water and splashes :D Mite even get a tv in there B-)

The tank should be fine in the shed provided it is well insulated, and the heating could even come down to 23-24C provided it fits with the requirements of the fish you will be keeping. Heating the shed by way of a gas heater or similar may also help.

Nealy all of my tanks are in a fish shed, as already stated, make sure it is very well insulated and there should not be too much of a problem. A bit of advice make sure you have adequate ventilation or the humidity may start of wood fungus etc. Good luck.

Cheers, Karl

Have you got any pics??? whats the best thing to insulate with??? so just like a fan in the side ? a pic ov your setup would be good :D

I have these photos, they are old and a lot of the smaller tanks have gone now and nearly all the stands have now been changed to hand built double layered ones.

I just use normal loft insulation in between the outta walls and the inner walls, and roof space, I just have some vents in the walls seems to work for me.

Below the 39" tank stand now gone rebuilt with a new stand has a 36" below it.

Below all these tanks are nor here now, there is a custom built stand with a 6' on top with a 36" and a 30" below it.

I only use one side of the Shed, Wifey won't let me use both. probab;y just as well given the amount of tanks I can get in one side.
Shed is 20'x10'
