I am setting up a 75-90 gallon marine tank, and I plan on housing a Snowflake Moray eel in it, among other fish. Apperently the Snowflakes like to munch on crustaceans especially. Does this mean I won't be able to use crabs and snails for algae control? If so, what could I use without inadvertently giving my eel an extra snack?

I plan of having 60+ lbs of live rock, so I'm sure algae will surface at some point. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

keep nutrients low, use a refugium, heavy skimming, phosphate reactors, DSB, elbow grease, and bigger water changes.

I'm pretty sure snowflake eels will only eat true crabs, like emeralds. They should leave snails and hermits alone, I think.

snowflake eels wont eat a big hairy red hermit if that helps! infact at work the hermit outcompetes the eel for food....
