I have had my tank running for almost a year now, I want some new fish.....

40 gal.

right now I have 5 platys, 4 danios, 1 clown pleco, 1 redtail shark, 3 bleeding heart tetras and 2 glass shrimp.

I have my tank planted and they are thriving. I have a aquaclear filter for 70 gal tanks for extra filtration......

im wondering what other fish can I put in there.

Im thinking 6-9 neons, a trio of corys, and a flame dwarf gourami pair....

am I pushing it?

i would get rid of 3 bleeding heart tetras
as 3 shoaling fish would be too much i think and get rid of shark.

get 6 neons
4-6 cories as they like to shoal
2 danios to make it six
and a pair of honey gouramis, dwarf gouramis are to prone to disease!

I dont think your pushing it at all, your adding bottom mid and top dwellers so they are adding to all sections of the tank not just 1..

If it was me, i wolud add them, you have a good filter system and im sure you do regular water changes so you should have no problem at all.

I got the tetras, 1 gourami, and a trio of sherpae tetras.....the neons are soooooooooooo small compared to everyone else...i dont think they are going to make it...

however the goruami i have is the most active and happy i have ever had.

cross fingers that everyone will jive with each other
