I have had several bettas and I occassionally have problems with constipation with them. I feed them hikari betta bio-gold, and it seems like they are prone to get constipated. I don't feed them much, usually 4 little pellets a day each. However, they occassionally get constipated (I can tell by their stomachs looking a bit swollen and swimming/swim bladder problems?) so I don't feed them for a few days until it goes down. I've tried to pea trick but they never seem to eat the peas and/or the peas sink. Does anyone else have this problem with bettas?

I too used to have that problem with my bettas, and some of mine refuse peas also. I feed mine live bloodworms, as well as the ones in the gel, it seems to keep them more regular. Just be warned that if you use the ones in the gel, they make the water quite nasty, so only a little bit at a time. Good luck and hope i have been of some help.
