Congo Tetras

What would be another fish mix with Congo Tetras to make them feel more comfortable?

Hey, I'm using Congo Tetras as my dominate fish species and as a 'dither' fish for my rams and kribs. Any ideas on what would be another good addition to the tank? Thankz!

I would say another shoal of Tetras, like Rummys, Silver Tips etc.

How big is the tank and how many fish are already in it?

If there is space i would add more congo tetras to make up a large shoal or add some yellow congo tetras for some alternative colour without changing the shape of the fish.

CFC or anyone else.....

I have a 42 hex....which is tall as opposed to long and was considering finishing off the tank with a small school of Congo tetras...

Do you see any problem with the mix I have in my signature or with the tank shape?

Thanks

FoF: If the tank was a rectangular, then just maybe, but Hex tanks have substantially less surface area and drastically less swimming space then regulars. I would say Congo Tetras, which grow to 3.5" - 4" and like to swim, are not really suitable for that tank.

Thankz guys...i hope i get more later on. I was leaning more towards the Serpae Tetras and the like since i have kept them before and like the bright red coloration. Help to spice things up with the congos. My tank is a 55gal. planted. I've got 4 congos, 5 otocinclus and 1 Thai Flying Fox. I'm gonna be adding 4 German Rams(just until i get a pair outa them, then the other two are gonna get removed) and 4 albino kribs(same as the rams...once they pair up i'm removing the other two). I was thinking of adding the kribs and the rams(they are in a holding tank right now as i get the tank more set up and stuff for them)some time next week. I put the congos in on Monday morning, and the Ottos in on Saturday mornin. I'm thinkin that on Thursday or Friday i will add more Congo tetras(I reallllly love them...they are so awesome!)and some more ottos. I'm working on getting some SAE's but its difficult to find the real thing. Keeping my fingers crossed though. I was thinking of adding maybe 6 more congo tetras and 5 more ottos. What do you think about Gouramis? Will the kribs and rams beat up on them because they are slower than most fish? Thank you so much for your input!

CFC!!! You have a Channa orientalis!! How!? Where?! I love those guys!! I have been trying to find them and get them but i think that all snakeheads are illegal in the states. Thats a dwarf species right? Kinda pastel blueish? With some yellowish color on it! Oh man i am sooo jealous! Thats tight!!! Very kewl man! I give you much homage!
