hi i was wondering would congo tetras be ok with neons, guppies, dwarf gourmi and a sucking loach? ive heard they are a bit nippy

Hi..I have two congos now for almost six months and they have been total community fish. HOWEVER, that doesnt' mean really small fish might not be targets. BIG FISH EAT SMALL FISH. The smallest fish I have in my tank is about 1 1/2 - 2 inches in length, turqoise danios and they are fast and mostly surface dwellers. I think your list should be safe. SH

Congo's will be absolutely fine, but whether I'd recommend them depends on the size of the tank - they're larger tetra's, and like any of them they will find security in shoals. Despite their size they can be quite skittish. I wouldn't recommend them unless you have the space to house them comfortably as a group, keeping in mind they share the same tank space as the neons.

Congo Tetras grow large as tetras go. They'll easily top 75mm/3" and can grow larger. As a shoaling fish, you'll want several, and they are active swimmers liking open water. Thus, it is the size of your tank that is the first issue.

Not aggressive, but as already mentioned, if a fish can fit a smaller fish in it's mouth, it probably will. Small guppies might fit.

The Sucking Loach is likely to cause you trouble long term as well.
