Confused - Neon Tetras And Cardinal Tetras

Hi there,

Just to put you in the picture, i had 5 neon tetras and then 3 clown loaches everything was fine so thought I'd add a few more friend and the other day I bought 6 cardinal tetras.

Sadly, only after 3 days of purchase one of the cardinal tetras has died however I have since noticed that I have what looks like 7 neon tetras and 2 cardinal tetras with another one missing. plus the clown loaches

I'm just very confused as to why there seems to be more neon tetras. I know they look very alike but they definately look like the markings of neons rather than the full red stripe of the cardinals.

I hope someone can give a reasonable explanation for this, i feel like i'm going abit mad.

maybe your lfs had some of them get mixed in,
or maybe they are stressed and their colors are a little faded.
