Conditioning Pair before spawning

How do you condition a pair of betta before they spawn and how long does the conditioning take?

Before breeding your bettas,you will need to condition them for at least two weeks. Condition means to keep thier water especially clean and feed them twice a day on live and frozen foods.This will prepare them for the spawning.

that's probably the ovipositor, which is one of the ways you tell the female from the male

Oh thanks. Here's a pic of her though not a very good one. She's a cambodian with a multicolor tail (purple, red, blueish).
