Hi, i set up the heater for my aquarium the other night, and noticed lots of condensation at the top, its not noticeable unless i lift the top of, but nevertheless, as i havent decided which fish to put in as yet, i just set it to 81. Is this too high?, and how long will i have to leave it to cool down a bit, if the fish that i choose need it to be cooler than that
Thanks ppl
Regards Miranda

Warm water the heat rises from the tank when the lid is on there is nowhere for this water to go so it turns into CONDENSATION on the lid.

81 how hot is that my tank is at 23c

I have

Tigar Barb
Neons
Red Tailed Shark
Silver Shark
Bristlenose Catfish
dwaf Puffer

hope this helps a bit

Hi Luke, i dont really know, i assume if your is 23c, then mine must be 81'f, the tank does not feel hot just a little warm,
What size is your tank? and do you have any pics of your fish ?

Thanks again for your advice

81F is about 27c, you should ideally be within like 24-26c for most fish, unless of course you are keeping fish that like a higher temperature like Discus for example.
