Condensation Trays

Hiya, are condensation trays absolutely necessary? I have an incredibly small tank 12" x 8 " and cannot find a condensation lid anywhere.

Any suggestions?

Buy a larger one and cut them down to size? It's what I did. you should be able to get 12x12 ones. Cut them in half and overlap them to fit the gap.

They are not essential, but I do rate them for stopping moisture getting into the air and affecting other things in the room the tank is in.

Something Tolak sent me a while back.

Necessary for fish that tend to jump/ fry (esp. anabantoids). Even slow-moving fish like bettas can potentially jump out of the tank, so I'd recommend getting some sort of hood...
