Lets say I'd like to get some. How many could I put in a 2.5 gallon to make them comfortable? Only 1? I do have a 5 gallon also I could use... which I'd probably use that instead. I could get two Dwarf Puffers in a 5 Gallon Hex, right? Thanks.

Well really, 1 is all you can have in a 5g hex, I wouldn't use a 2.5g for one.

Huh? Really? I've heard people've kept two in a five gallon. What would happen if there were two? Out of curiousity, if it's really important not to have two in that tank, don't get me wrong, I won't but I'd just like to see your point of view and other people's point of view on this.

They define territories, they may fight and not have enough room to get away from the other etc.

I was just reading on Dwarf Puffers, one needs at least 2 gallons of space to themselves.

I'd say 4g a puffer may work, though 5g should be used unless you have a spare tank.

Well, I'll research more, based on other people's opinions, I'll decide. :)

The the pinned topic on this page as is a site dedicated to dwarf puffer won't let me put in link is good.

EDIT - d w a r f p u f f e r s . c o m just take out the spaces.

At the top of the page I wrote a pinned topic based on my experience with dwarf puffers, and the experience of others who have kept them also. Be sure to read it.

Yup, that's were I went.

Ok, I think I'll only get one puffer, what other fish/ invertibrates can get along? Anything other than ottos? I have a hard time finding those around here.

Like it says in the pinned topic, best tankmates are armoured plecs and ottos. Even then i have seen a 1" DP hitch a ride on the tail of a 4" bristlenose.

Some people have luck with shrimp, but naturally in the wild they eat invertebrates so i couldn't recommend it.

Hey, I just realised I have a 10 gallon I've been saving for who knows what. Maybe I can use that for 2 of them... but I'll need to convince my dad, and find a different use for the 5 gallon.
