Compatibility???

Just curious to know whether its possible to mix geophagus and clown loaches

Could anyone see any problems arising

Yes they are compatible and get along fine, geophagus are a none agressive cichlid and will them the loaches alone or though i would adise getting large loches just in case the cichlids think they are food.
I think mwm a member on this forum keeps both these fish as well.

it would work with the right sized tank.
the geophagus species is one of my favorites, what type of geophagus were you planning on getting? some need larger tanks than others

I have Juraparis and Surinamensis with my Clown Loaches, my smallest clown is about 5" though, so there is never any quabbling between them. It will work, but try to get the biggest loaches you can!!!

I have geophagus altifrons they are about 3" maybe smaller. I want to get about 5 clowns in a 5ft tank
