Hi

I have a male betta. He's doing great.

I also have 3 platys 4 danios and a guppy.

Is it ok to add 2 or 3 female Bettas to this community? Are they as hardy as the males?

Cheers
Andy.

I think we need to know a bit more information first.

1) is the male Betta in with the platies and danio's and guppy or is he in a seperate tank?
2) What size is the tank that you want the females in?
3) What sort of decorations do you have?

Males and Female betta's do not get along well in a tank together.... you will end up with dead fish. Thus why we need to know more detail. ^_^

Males and females just dont get along. hints in the name :p Siamese FIGHTING Fish. In their natural habitat they inhabit place with enough hiding places and murky enough water not be seen unless spawning. But the males are always on the look for food and females to spawn with so males naturally fight with other males to get the females :)

Ok cheers.

I was under the impression that it was only the males that fought. Good job I checked first. I saw a load of females in a tank together at the pet shop and thought they looked really nice.

Thanks for your advice.

Definitely wont be adding any females.

Andy.
