I have a 55g community fresh water tank. I want to add some fish but need advice:

1)will adding an angel fish be a bad idea?, considering:
-significant amount of current
-my rasboras nip at fins allot but the nipping seems to be within their own species

2)any ideas on any fast swimming shark like fish that will work with my community of fish? I want to get one or a few larger fish if possible…..

55g with LOTS of current (rena xp3) in half the tank, and a bit calmer in the other half of the tank. The calm part of the tank has lots of live plants. 5 meduim sized pieces of bog wood spearating the two "different" parts of the tank.
Fish:
11 rummy nose tetras
4 lake inle rasboras (tiger rasp.,)
3 striped cories
1 clown pleco
adding 5 Denisons barbs soon

Im not so sure about the tool for judging the amount you should put in a tank though... i put in the dimension of a Juwel Rio 125 (27 uk gallons) and it said o could have 175 cm of fish.. thats about 69 inches and heavily overstocked if im right..

it looks good for the compatibility stuff though..

Sadly, I have to agree. I put in the dimensions of my 40g US tank and it said I could have 140 inches of fish.

newfishaddict, in regards to your angelfish with current question, I used to have 7 angelfish in my 150 gallon tank, and I had four power heads. The angels struggled a little when they were at the top, but they learned quickly where they could and couldnt swim without a minor struggle. If you turn off your powerheads when you feed your fish then there wont ever be a time where they have to struggle in the major current if they dont want to... and thats if they can't handle the current in a 55 gallon. My angels lived for over 3 years so I'd say the current was not a problem at all for them.
