tough question. Danios and guppies can be a great combination. However, sometimes danios can get a bit nippy with slow moving, big finned fish. The secret is have enough danios so they dont bother anyone else. Give it a try and if it doesnt work bring them back to the LFS or .... :shifty: get another tank

We're about to start a second tank, I just need to get a stand for it. that's the one we're thiking of doing danios and guppies in.

if thats the case it should work fine. Get 7-8 danios and they will spend most of their time with each other and should leave the other fish alone. Dont get me wrong, danios are not notorious fin nippers but they can from time to time. They are great fish and very active. good Luck with the new tank. :)

I agree, some Danios, Zebras for example can be quite aggressive sometimes and need a largish group. They are not evil, but a long fin is an invitation to certain individuals if they are in that kind of a mood.

The only variety of danio that nips on a regular basis is the zebra danio (danio reio)
there are many danios out there that do not nip at all! :/

Yes danios and guppys will be fine even better would be longfinned leopard danios
(danio frankei (reio)) the two longfinned species together would look great.

P.s.
how big is this second tank?
danios need a lot of room to swim about in
checkout my website :D

By my calculations 15 US gallons 20x10x18 inches roughly. I think you (Danio2004) did some chatiing with MRshouty, it's the same tank, he's my son.
