Hi,

I'm interested in adding some Common Shore Shrimp (Palaemonetes vulgaris) to my Archer Tank just to add a little more life to the party. These are being sold as a marine species, but it seems that they might come from estuaries where the salinity could be lower than full marine. Does anyone know if they're fare well in 1.010-1.015SG?

Thanks,
Dave

PS> I do understand that they might become archer food.

Palaemonetes vulgaris is in fact a brackish water prawn, so it will be fine at anything from 1.010 (possibly lower) up to full marine.

Awesome, I'll place an order on some. Maybe I'll let them grow up in a refugium for a while before I place them in my tank... don't want them to become instant archer food.

As you already know they'll eventually become Archer food. If you don't have any high pieces of wood or tall plants the shrimp won't venture high enough for the archer to grab.
