Hi, I have had my Common Pleco for a few weeks now and it has always been all over the tank, not hiding. On Saturday I bought two Yoyo Loaches to eat my snails, As the Pleco is now 7inches and the Loaches are 2inches at present I did not think there would be a problem even though they are all bottom dwellers. At first the Pleco did not seem bothered but since Monday it has been hiding behind it's rock and hardly coming out at all. It couldn't be scared of the Loaches could it? :( Forgot to say water quality is fine and current is strong.

My Common plec doesn't care about anything in my tank though sometimes chases my galaxy plec around.

Maybe they just need to get used to each other.

My Common plec is in there with 2 yo-yo's 2 angelicus and 2 clown loaches

Yep, they do that. Perfectly normal behaviour.

How active a plec is seems to have as much to do with individual personality as species.

Thanks for replies, he is coming out more now. I moved things around a bit yesterday when I did a water change. I put in some Mowpani(not sure of spelling) wood which I have been soaking and removed an ornament as it looked a bit crowded. Of course I got the wrong wood! They are supposed to have bogwood. Does it matter? I think my Pleco is a Common. :)
