Common Pleco Acting Weird?

i just bought my small commun pleco a neat vase like thing for a cave and he is ignoring it and instead sucking on the filter. is it normal??? or should i give him a day and look again?

He will be eating the algae or bits of food that is on the filter, i have had jugs & plant pots for mine but he rarely went in them, he just goes in to the most covered part of the tank which is the back behind the decor & plants

your concern is much appreaciated, but dont worry, i am soon rehoming him and buying a rubbernose pleco.

I wanted a rubbernose for my latest tank but couldn't find one anywhere at the time. Apologies for asking about the common but I know a couple of folk who have been sold them by shops who didn't inform them how big they grew.

no problem, it nice to see so many people that take an intrest in the fishes well bieng.

The behavior is normal. They sometimes go into holes, sometimes come out, its a pleco thing. Hes most likely eating food particles and other gunk off your filter.
