yeah, this is already posted in "new world cichlids," but it seems like not a lot of people surf that forum often, so:
I've had my ram in the SA tank for about 3 weeks, but I noticed that recently he's been more stressed out. It always seemed like the other fish pushed him around too much. He's still small, a little under 2 inch from head to tail.
It's not the other fish were aggressive to him, just that they were too over-active, and in feeding time the hatchets, and too a greater extent the serpaes, always had their way with the food.
Does that sound like a common ram problem?
Anyway, I quickly moved him to the 5 gallon. Things are much quieter there; the lighting is dim and the only other fish are the very small, usually docile ember tetras. As you can see there's lots of shade and hiding places so I hope he'll be feeling better.
Any ideas on what I can do to make him feel better?
