Columbian Tetras

I was wondering if anyone here keeps columbian tetras? I have been considering getting a small school but I have heard that the stalk in most lfs happens to be very low quality as they have been overbreed and have now lost most of their natural coloration. Is this true?

i've only got a pair < bad i know > but they have beautiful colouration. theyre both female so i guess thats why i have no breeding problems. after i got them it took them a while but they have really beautiful colouring now. lovely , mild mannered tetras

I used to have 20 of these.

One thing you have to consider before you buy these, is that will the other fishes in your tank be able to compete for food?
Because my fishes couldn't.

They eat absolutly everything, and they eat fast.
