Will a Colombian Shark (Arius jordani) eat my bumblebee gobies?

They get quite large and are natural predators. I don't have personal experience, but I would assume eventually your bb's would become snacks.

Quite so. The idea that the BBG's bee-like colour gives them immunity to predation is erroneous.

Keep your sharks with tankmates too large to be swallowed whole. Knight gobies and large sailfin mollies should be okay.

Note that Colombian sharks are gregarious: don't keep one, keep two or more.

Cheers, Neale

Well its not erroneous per'se. Generic colouration of black/yellow banding is associated with warning signals and so may be an evolutionary imitation, or a random factor that provides a similar effect. There is some colloquial evidence to support the theory that the banding is used to identify other bumbledees in murky water (territory establishment/breeding.feeding areas etc). But nothing to suppor/disprove its use as predator deterrent I'm afraid.
