hiya,

i have two columbian sharks that i love loads  but they are starting to act really weired, they keep trying to jump out of the tank, so far they havent fallen out but it is makeing it hard to clean the gravel properly.......i have a small tetra tank next to the main one and im worried that they may be trying to get to them :-(

could they be trying to get to the neons?
could it be that its time to put them into salty water?
i have a problem if it is, as they have befreinded my pictus and i dont really want to separate them yet, can the pictus go into brackish water as well?
they already are in slightly salty water but how would i know if this is enough?

thanks for any help you can give :p

 :fish: :nerd:

water peramiters are fine nitrite 0, amonia 0, and PH is arround 7.5 ish, there in a four foot tank at the mo. but i have a nice big tank for them to grow and play in salty water when they need too :D
but i dont really want to seporatethem from the Pictus........will the pictus be able to survive in Brackish water?

Did you know your Colmbian Shark Catfish could grow to about 12"?

Anyhow, I think your water parameters are fine, so the problem doesn't look like its there.

It sounds like they're a very shy kind of fish, so would explain when you try cleaning the gravel they'd want to escape.

As for the Pictus accepting brackish water, I haven't found anything to help you there I'm afraid. I'm sure someone'd be able to help you with this.

my second tank holds 45 uk gal do you think this would be big enough?

i really dont want to seporate them
