I have decided to restart my tank after I had a rare case of fish tank granuloma caused by an infection in the tank. My tank was not very colourful before I had the infection. I have a 43 x 27 x 35 cm 30 litre tank(6 gallons) which obviously is not very big. Does anyone know if there are any small fish (4-6cm when fully grown) that are very colourful (bright colours) and suitable for a tank of this size? I have looked around but the only colourful ones I can find are the Cichlid group but they are far too big when fully grown for my tank!
:)

Guppies are colourful. So are neon tetra.

Dunno what else could be in that small a tank. I'm not even sure about those.

What was in it last time? Maybe there are more colourful breeds of them.

Hey Olive,

IMO glass cats are too big for a 6 US(?) gallon. They get to 3" and need to be in a pair or an even group preferably.

Maybe x-ray tetra. They are se through but have some colour on their fins. They are also small. I have 4 of them.

hmmmmm.....x-ray tetras.....probably have seen them but not sure what you are talking about.......will go search the net for a picture.... :D

I'm going to say glowlight tetras and cardinal tetras. I'm not sure how big cardinals get full size, tho. I'd check on that. I have a gigantic glowlight tetra, well over 2 inches. He's a beaut!
